Chad Isaak the suspect in the Mandan quadruple homicide has had his first court appearance.

Isaak faces 7 different charges, including four counts of AA felony murder. He also faces burglary, unlawful entry within a vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

AA felony murder is punishable by up to Life in Prison if convicted.

During the initial appearance Friday in Morton County court, the judge read the charges to Chad Isaak.

He was asked if he understood the charges he faces, to which he said ‘yes, sir.’

The State’s Attorney for Morton County requested $1,000,000 cash bond. The State’s Attorney requested the bond amount because she said the brutal nature of the crimes should be considered. She said the facts should also be considered because of the premeditation of the crime, and the attempt to conceal it.

She also says there are concerns for the safety of RJR employees,  and asks for no contact orders to be in place for all employees of the company. 

Chad Issak’s attorney asked for $100,000 bond. He said while the allegations are heinous he says Chad Isaak has ties to the community.

The Judge said there is a concern for community safety and safety for the employees of RJR. He set bond at $1,000,000 cash. 

He also put restrictions on Isaak as far as contact with witnesses and employees of RJR if he were able to post bond.
