Minot area golfers are getting back onto the links.
The public course, Souris Valley, opened Friday.
Minot Country Club had its first rounds of the year Sunday.
And The Vardon is scheduled to open Tuesday.
At Souris Valley Golf Course, Steve Kottsick says golfers will see some changes this year to make the course a bit easier.
(Steve Kottsick, Souris Valley Golf Course) “A lot of people hit the golf ball 200 yards or less, so we’re trying to find a happy fit for those people. So it’s now – they’re called irrelevant shots where you’re just banging the ball until you get to the green. We’re trying to make it more agreeable for most folks.”
Kottsick says the standard-length tee boxes will also be available for golfers who want to play the course to its full length.
