A downtown landmark will be dismantled this weekend.
The construction crane that’s been hovering over the Renaissance Parking Ramp for two years will be taken down.
City Engineer Lance Meyer says crews will begin the removal process Saturday and the crane should be gone within a few days.
The crane has become a painful reminder of the problems surrounding the downtown parking ramps that have cost millions more than originally promised, taken longer to complete, and proven difficult to finish off.
A second crane that was also erected in 2015 for work on the other downtown parking ramp was removed last year.
