Cynthia Wilder will spend the rest of her life in prison for her role in helping her husband kill his ex-wife.

That was the decision of North Central District Judge Stacy Louser this morning.
The judge’s sentence went beyond what was asked for by both the defense and the prosecution who proposed prison terms of 10 and 20 years respectively.

But in an impassioned recap of the case and its impacts, Judge Louser said Cynthia Wilder’s admissions to a confidential informant in an audio tape played in the courtroom today showed she helped Richie Wilder plan and carry out the stabbing murder of Angila Wilder in November of 2015.

The judge concluded her reasoning by telling Cynthia Wilder that she alone carries the burden for taking Angila from her three children.

(Stacy Louser, North Central District Judge) “You were the one person who could’ve intervened. Who could’ve called law enforcement when Richie Wilder left your home. You were the one person who could’ve spared Angila Wilder’s life. You chose not to do so.”

After that, Judge Louser sentenced Cynthia Wilder to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
It’s the same sentence her husband Richie is now serving after his conviction for the murder of Angila Wilder.
