A local school has finally finished renovations to their building.
Dakota Memorial School, the on-campus school of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch recently renovated some of their classrooms.
The project took about nine months to complete.
The new classrooms are not your traditional ones, they are more focused on individual one-on-one learning.
The school supports students with complex learning needs due to trauma, behavioral and psychiatric issues.
“As we give more skills and as we do more transitional skills then we see okay are we able to move from this smaller environment into one more step into our transition and then what can we do so that they’re ready to transition into a larger classroom environment which would then be their home school,” said principal Tina DeGree.
Dakota Memorial School serves school kids third grade to twelfth.
