Tonight, local celebrities will put on their dancing shoes and fight to win the mirror ball trophy.

Dancing For Special Stars pairs a dance instructor with well known leaders in the Minot community.

They will each perform a dance routine in hopes to get the most votes from the audience.

People pay twenty-five dollars to get tickets which they will use to choose the winner.

The purpose for this is to raise awareness and money for Special Olympics North Dakota.

“It’s very meaningful and I’m just glad that we have an event that can tailor to a whole audience that’s not involved with Special Olympics on a daily basis so that they can come in and learn a little bit about the impact that we have,” said Jacob Thrailkill, Dancing For Special Stars Chair.

The event is tonight at 7pm in Anne Nicole Nelson Hall.

Eight pairs will be competing.
