Deer season is quickly approaching and so far, it’s looking promising for hunters.
There are only 2 species of deer in North Dakota including mule and white tail deer.
According to Greg Gullickson with Game and Fish – the outlook this year looks better than last years.
Their numbers are showing that mule deer – mostly found in the southwest part of the state are increasing.
White tail deer across the state are also steadily increasing.
“Some good news for hunters. We were able to issue a few more tags so we’re going to have a few more people out in the field and it looks to be a great season. In fact, I drew my tags after 5 years so I’m especially excited about this deer season,” said Greg Gullickson, Game and Fish Department Outreach Biologist.
Deer season officially kicks off on Friday, November 9th at noon.
