Late Sunday evening, the Dickinson Police Department posted to its Facebook page, stating a middle school shooting threat has been handled and taken care of over the course of the past week. In the post, the PD stated all precautions have been taken, and the school is safe for students to return Monday morning.

KX News reached out to the Dickinson Police Department to find out more. The shift commander, Sgt. Matt Hanson had little information to share. He told us the school resource officers were the ones who dealt with the situation. The SRO’s are taking all precautions Monday. Hanson tells us, additional patrol units will be at the middle school on Monday.

In comments on the DPD’s facebook post, it seems many parents were not previously made aware of this threat. Many questioned why this was the first they were hearing of this.

The DPD Captain will be able to give KX News more information at 8 a.m. on Monday.
