The Dickinson rural fire department received a big check to help purchase critical fire response equipment.
Hess Corporation donated 25,000 dollars to the department.
The money is going towards upgrades of a new grass fire truck.
Captain Alec Marquardt says it’s going to help increase water capacity on the truck, assist in fire suppression efforts and so much more that helps make the community safer.
He says it’s great to see a big corporation like Hess help out a small town fire department.
“It’s huge having companies like Hess and local communities to come in and support us like that. It shows that they’re there for us and that we will be there for them too,” Capt. Marquardt said.
Thanks to the donation, the rural fire department is closing in on its goal of 80,000 to finance the upgrades on the truck.
