Discoverer Of Ancient City Visiting Home State


A North Dakota man who is among the most renowned Egyptologist is be spending time in his home state this week.
Dr. Mark Lehner graduated from Minot High School 51 years ago and will be back in the classroom Wednesday, talking with current students about his life in archaeology.

For over 30 years, he’s been uncovering the Lost City of the Pyramids near the Sphinx and the Giza Pyramids.

(Dr. Mark Lehner, Egyptologist) “What we were actually finding by this time was one of the oldest cities in the world, or at least a major part of the Earth’s first city, a city that came together for building the Giza Pyramids.”

In addition, Lehner will be presenting a public lecture on his archaeological finds – and his career as an Egyptologist – on Thursday night at 7 at Ann Nicole Nelson Hall at Minot State University.
