Do you have excess holiday trash?

The holidays mean lots of family, friends, and food, and that also means a lot of garbage can pile up.

As you know there was no garbage collection on Christmas Day and there won’t be any on New Years Day.

The city of Minot wants to help if the delay may cause you an inconvenience.

Residents can stop by the landfill and dispose of any excess garbage for free, from now until January 5th.

All you have to do is bring a utility bill that shows you pay sanitation charges.

“We recognize that during the holidays you got a lot of boxes and card board and paper and it takes a lot of volume for that stuff and we recognize that we need to have a place to put that stuff and our garbage carts are only so large,” said Minot’s sanitation superintendent

He says you can haul as much as you’d like out there free of charge.
