Donate fresh baked cookies to MAFB today through Friday

It’s the giving season, and this week, it’s time to give cookies to our men and women who serve on Minot Air Force Base.

For more than a decade, the Minot community has been baking and donating cookies to give to about 1,200 first-term airmen who live in the dorms.

Last year, the Minot Commission on Aging donated close to 500 dozen cookies .. and in total, about 15-hundred dozen cookies were brought to the base.

Plus, all of the cookies are carefully re-packaged so that each airmen gets a variety of fresh baked Christmas cookies.

“First time away from home for most of them, they don’t have the ability to get back home for the holidays, and this is an opportunity to give them a little touch of somebody’s Christmas with fresh baked cookies,” said President of the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce, John MacMartin.

Stocking space is not an issue this year since the chamber is using the Donation Station from Minot Area Community Foundation .. a big trailer to store and transport the ‘precious cargo.’

You can bring your cookies to the Chamber of Commerce this week, through Friday the fourteenth, from 9am to 4pm.
