From the KX News Dakota Storm Center:
We are starting off the work week with cloudy skies, a chilly feel and a light to moderate Southeast breeze. There is some scattered light mix/rain that is slowly moving across the sate and will transition back to a mix this evening as temps fall into the freezing range, again. A weak system is slowly moving across the Dakotas and will bring continued light, scattered shower/mix activity to parts of our area until it clears out Tuesday night.
As daytime temps climb above freezing, scattered activity will become rain. Overnight, temps will fall back below freezing and precip will turn back to a wintry mix/freezing rain/snow. So, for the next couple of days, expect mostly cloudy skies with some clearing Tuesday and a little more sunshine by Wednesday. There will be some precip chances for parts of the area, as a weak system moves East across the Northern Plains.
By late Tuesday, most of the precip chances will be over Eastern ND. Temps will be in the 30s during the day and 20s (with a few teens) overnight. Thursday will bring another chance for scattered light precip. By the end of the work week, little to no accumulation is expected from our scattered rain/snow mix. However, there may be times that wintry mix/freezing rain will require caution on the roadways, especially during the morning hours. So, those hitting the roads and traveling around Thanksgiving (Wed night through Thursday night/Friday) should keep an eye on the forecast and be aware of any precip on radar or the possibility of some hazards on the roadways. By Friday & this weekend, expect more sunshine and temps topping out in the 40s for many.
Tonight, expect cloudy skies with scattered light precip and a chilly feel. Areas of wintry mix, freezing rain and light snow will be possible with little to no accumulation expected. Lows in the 20s with a few 30s & teens. There will be a SE wind 5-15mph and chills in the 20s & teens. 20% chance of precip.
Tuesday will bring another round of cloudy skies with some clearing, a chilly feel and tapering precip chances. Highs on either side of 40 with a SE/North wind 2-12mph G20 and chills in the 20s & 30s.
Tuesday night, expect mostly cloudy skies with some in & out cloud cover and a chilly feel. Lows in the 20s with a NW wind 5-15mph G20 and chills in the 20s & teens.
Wednesday will bring partly to mostly cloudy skies with a chilly feel and there will be some clearing at times. Highs in the 30s with a few 40s, a North/East wind 2-10mph and chills in the 20s & 30s.
Wednesday night will bring mostly cloudy skies and scattered mix/snow possible. Lows in the 20s with an East/South light wind (2-10mph) and chills in the 20s.
