Dorrell’s PM Forecast Update Thursday 2/16

News
From the KX News Storm Center:

Across the state we have been under plenty of sunshine with a few clouds and a light wind out of the West & South. Temperatures are slightly warmer than yesterday afternoon and ranging from the 30s, through the 40s & 50s and into the 60s across parts of Western & Central ND. Through the rest of the work week, expect a few changes that will bring us a slightly different weather pattern through this weekend.
A low pressure system that is over the Pacific Northwest will reorganize over Southern Canada and continue to re develop as it moves East, just north of the Dakotas. All of this will happen during the next 24 hours and by Friday evening, a weak cold front will continue to roll out of the Northern Plains and away from our area. This cold front will bring a few changes, but not very significant ones. Friday, scattered light rain will be possible for parts of Western & Central ND with more clouds and winds becoming a little breezy at times. Friday night, we will see clearing and through the weekend, expect more sunshine with a slightly cooler air mass affecting North Dakota. High temperatures will remain above average for this time of the year, topping out in the 40s with a light wind that will become a little breezy at times and swing around to the South & Southeast.
Next week will start off with the beginning of a more active weather pattern as a series of clippers develops and moves West to East through the Northern Plains. Each one of these systems will bring slightly cooler air into play and by the middle of the work week rain chances will be traded out for mix/snow chances in our long-term forecast.

Tonight, mostly clear to partly cloudy and a little cool with increasing cover, late. Lows in the 20s & 30s with a light wind out of the Southwest, 2-10mph.

Friday, partly to mostly cloudy at times with scattered rain/mix showers possible as a weak cold front moves across the Dakotas. Highs in the 40s with a few 50s and a W/NW wind 5-15mph G20.

Friday night, clearing skies, becoming mostly clear with a cool feel. Lows on either side of 30 with a West/SW wind 2-10mph.

Saturday, expect more sunshine with in & out clouds and a mild feel. Highs well into the 40s with a few 50s possible and a light wind swinging around to the Southeast & East.

Saturday night will be partly to mostly cloudy and a little cool. Lows near 30 with an East/Southeast wind 2-10mph.
