Dorrell’s PM Forecast Update Wednesday 2/1

From the KX News Storm Center:
Across the state today, we have seen a mixture of sunshine & cloud cover with a chilly feel. Temperatures are ranging 10-20 degrees cooler than this time yesterday. A colder air mass will continue to affect our region through the end of the work week with in & out clouds. This means that temps will remain below average for this time of the year through the next couple of days with more sunshine. This weekend will bring with it a warmer feel (temperatures in a more seasonable range) and snow chances back into the forecast. Overnight temperatures will be on either side of zero, tonight through Saturday morning. Expect a light to moderate wind that will make it feel like it is below zero and into the negative teens across Western & Central ND.
This weekend, we will start to see increasing clouds and scattered snow chances as soon as Friday night & Saturday morning. At this point, light accumulations of new snow are expected through the weekend with a few areas of 1″-3″ possible as a couple of weak systems affect North Dakota.
Our long range forecast models are hinting at another system moving through the Dakotas for the beginning of the work week. If this system pans out, expect more snow chances followed by clearing skies and another round of colder temperatures.
Tonight, partly cloudy to mostly clear and cold with temps slightly below average for this time of the year. Lows on either side of zero with a West/NW wind 2-12mph and chills below zero and into the -teens.
Thursday will bring more sunshine with in & out light clouds and a chilly feel. Highs in the teens & to either side of 10 with a West/NW wind 5-15mph. Chills will be near and below zero.
Thursday night, mostly clear to partly cloudy & cold. There is a slight chance for scattered snow for the Southwest corner of the state. Lows below zero with a few single digits and a light wind swinging around to the West. Chills below zero and in the -teens.
Friday, expect plenty of sunshine with increasing clouds late. Highs in the teens with a few 20s and a West/South wind 2-10mph. Chills will be near zero and in the single digits.
Friday night will bring increasing clouds and rising snow chances. Lows in the single digits and a few teens with a Southeast wind 2-10mph. 20% chance for snow and chills below zero.
