Bismarck is getting a new mixed development building geared towards the working professional on the corner of 7th and Main Ave.
Downtown Bismarck is a hot spot.
“From the bars, restaurant, the local shops, book stores. Those kind of things,” said Stephen Gefroh, Bismarck resident.
25- year- old Stephen Gefroh knows first hand how busy it can get, he lives just a few blocks from Main Ave.
“Everything is really good resources and here in a small vicinity,” said Gefroh.
As a way to keep not only resources in the downtown area, developers are adding more options for people, to live and work.
In a little over a year, the gravel parking lot will be transformed in to a three-story commercial and residential building.
The first floor will have commercial space and the 2nd and 3rd floors will have 52 apartments for leasing. Developers say it will fill in the missing piece in the downtown district.
“It’s going to be really not only the newest but almost the first market rate nice apartments to live in, to be able to work in, to be able to play in. So you have the live, work and play aspect all in one place, and you have that all in downtown now. Whereas, before we were missing that living aspect,”said Taylor Daniel, Commercial Realtor at Daniel Companies.
Denizen Development Company and Daniel Companies are joining forces on the building.
Denizen is developing it and Daniel Companies is leasing out the ground floor commercial space.
This construction will cost 7 1/2 to 8 million dollars and that money is coming from investors.
Now, developers are done with the design stage and are entering the marketing stage.They are looking for investors and people to lease both commercial and residential space. The building will be just one more piece, to a downtown that’s developed significantly over the last 10 years.
Developers hope to start construction in the spring of 2019 and finished in early 2020.
