Engines revved at a local Drag strip for the last time this season. To celebrate, they revealed signs naming roads at the complex after important people and memories of the Strip’s history. The racers showed off their need for speed as they flew down the straightaway. Dragsters came from as far away as Fargo end the year on a good note.
“The fans have been the biggest part. Going around, meeting all the different ones. I’ve traveled to 51 different tracks across the state and this is one of my favorite ones. I just wish it was a little closer so I could make the drive.” said Mike Qualley, Fargo Dragster.
The racers were eager to finish the season off strong by beating their fastest times. Even the junior dragsters were feeling the heat of the competition, especially the Wilson sisters who ended the year first and third in points for their division.
“I love that it’s a family thing and just do it every weekend and it’s fun, and competitive, and I love doing it.” said Ashley Wilson, Junior Dragster.
The Magic City International Dragway will be back for it’s tenth season this spring.
