It appears that an apartment fire in south Bismarck may have been an act of arson.
The Bismarck Fire Department says it was called to an apartment building on south Washington Street around 4:00 AM Wednesday morning. They found a fire had started on the third floor and burned through the roof.
Bismarck Police helped evacuate the building, while the Burleigh County Sheriff’s Office used a drone to look for hot spots.
No one was injured. The residents of the apartment were displaced by the fire.
Fire Marshall Owen Fitzsimmons says early evidence suggests the fire was intentionally set. Police and fire officials are still investigating.
