Hunters looking to add a different trophy to their wall need to know applications for elk, moose and bighorn sheep are due March 27th.
A record of 479 moose licenses is available.
Game and Fish says that’s an increase of 145 from last year and it’s due to the increase in the population being seen in northwest North Dakota.
There are 478 elk licenses available this year which is the most since 2011.
Though bighorn sheep license applications are due — game and fish won’t announce whether or not there will be a season until September 1st.
The season depends on the population.
