Event set up for flood victims along the Yellowstone River this week


,McKenzie County is still assisting flood victims along the Yellowstone River.

The emergency manager is setting up a second Multi Area Agency resource center event this Thursday.

It will take place at the fire hall in Fairview, ND from 10 am in the morning until 2 pm that day.

There was one for homeowners who were impacted by the flood a few weeks ago, but this one is more for ag producers.

The USDA will be offering farm loan and disaster assistance programs

“It can be used to restore equipment, essential property production cost. We saw a lot of grain bins explode because of the water. . .  the water enlarged it,” said Karolin Jappe, McKenzie County emergency manager.

More than 100 people were affected by the flood along the Yellowstone River; Many of them were in agriculture.
