On Wednesday, October 3rd, around 1:20 p.m. CDT, Uncle Sam will call you on your cell phone.
Your cell phone — and about 300 million others.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will test, for the first time, a nationwide Wireless Emergency Alert system.
The test will make sure cell phones can receive notifications in the event of a national emergency.
The test will also include broadcast radio and television stations and will last about one minute.
This is the test that was postponed from late last month.
FEMA has more info and public service announcements for tomorrow’s test.
