The founder of Facebook paid a visit to North Dakota this week.
Mark Zuckerberg posted on his Facebook account that he came to the state to learn about the energy industry and the impact of fracking on the climate, the state’s people and the economy.
His post says he was interested to learn about the technology that has led the state to become a leader in oil production.
He talked about the ratio of men to women because of the sudden availability of jobs filled mainly by men, and said the women he talked to felt safe in the Williston area.
He closed his writing by saying he is grateful for the opportunity to see a community with such unique social dynamics.
Other posts on Facebook from Williston inclulded the server who waited on Zuckerberg as he dined at Outlaws in Williston last night, and photos of people who ran into him at the restaurant.
