The lowest final-day attendance in five years left the North Dakota State Fair just short of the 300-thousand mark for 2017.

Fair officials report Saturday’s attendance was 34,161 – with only 3,571 people attending last night’s concert by rock group Paramore.

That brought the nine-day total for the Fair to 299,077.

It’s the second straight year under 300-thousand, after breaking that level for the previous five years.

Recent years total attendance:

2017 – 299,077

2016 – 293,123

2015 – 305,093

2014 – 314,446

2013 – 320,486

2012 – 310,839

2011 – No Fair due to flood

2010 – 308,641

2009 – 296,919
