The Red Cross has been called in to help after a fire at a Dickinson apartment building.

All tenants in the 6-plex unit are without a home on Wednesday.

According to the Dickinson Fire Department, the building is a total loss

The fire department responded to a fire on Sims Street around 6:40 a.m. that started on the 2nd floor of the building and spread to the attic.

Almost 30 firefighters and eight engines responded to the blaze.

An official from the Dickinson Fire Department said the incident was called in by a neighbor.

It has been reported that one person was taken to the hospital, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
