Fargo eliminates Dickinson in Central Plains Regional Tournament

Fargo Post 2 defeated the Dickinson Roughriders 5-3 at Astoria Field Friday night, officially eliminating the Roughriders from the Central Plains Regional Tournament.

The Roughriders were first to score in the game, but Fargo’s Taylor Parrett blasted a solo home run to left center in the fifth to make the score 1-1.

Fargo kept up the pressure in the sixth inning, with Parrett again at the center of things.

With a runner on third, Parrett hit a slow roller to the hole between first and second. Dickinson first baseman Shawn Stoltz went over to field the ball, while Parrett and Dickinson pitcher Kendall Jones raced to the bag.

Parrett used a headfirst slide to beat the underhand toss from Stoltz, and the runner from third was able to score to give Fargo the 2-1 lead.

Fargo went on to win 5-3 to officially eliminate the hosts.
