FARGO—A Fargo woman and her pup are heading to Westminster to compete in the National Dog Show.

Elizabeth Nelson says she and her 4-year old Doberman Pinscher, Krieger, compete in more than ten shows every year.

They’ll be on the national stage in New York on February 13th, competing against professional breeders and handlers from around the country.

It’s is a dream come true for Elizabeth, who says she’s been vying for Westminster since she was young, but the road to Westminster was a long one filled with hard work.

“It’s just work, it’s putting time into your dog, I think people get a dog and think it’s going to grow up perfect, but it takes a lot of work and it takes time,” said Nelson.

Elizabeth says she’s the only person from North Dakota competing this year.
