More than a hundred farmers also rallied today in Fargo in advance of President Trump’s rally.
The North Dakota Farmers Union organized the event at the Red River Valley fairgrounds.
Farmers arrived on their tractors.
The main topics at this event were the upcoming farm bill and the recently imposed trade tariffs.
“We’re only about a month and a half away from harvest and in many cases the folks that really have to sell right after harvest time are gonna have to deal with these prices, so they don’t have a long time to wait,” said Mark Watne, President of the ND Farmers Union.
The Senate is expected to vote on its version of the farm bill this week.
