February 14 Legislative Session

News

Here is what’s happening at the capitol today.
It’s the final slate of committee hearings before crossover.

First up — lawmakers want the American Flag on display in Memorial Hall.
It’s not currently displayed there — that resolution will be taken up by the House Government Affairs Committee.

Another group will talk about the importance of making sure rural communities have access to fresh food and produce.
Since 2013 North Dakota has lost 15 percent of its grocery stores in towns with populations of fewer than 2,100 people.
Lawmakers want to study that problem.

There are also two resolutions relating to Veterans
One simply honors all of our armed services members. Those still alive and those who lost their lives in the line of duty or due to the results of their experience.
The other honors the many volunteers who have organized Honor Flights for North Dakota and Minnesota Veterans.
