Fire department asks residents to clear fire hydrants

News

A local fire department is asking residents to help keep fire hydrants clear of snow.

The Minot Fire Department says the time it takes to dig out a hydrant could be the difference in saving someone’s life or property.

There are approximately 2,500 hydrants in the city.

Residents and property owners can help by clearing a path from the street to the hydrant.

Currently, there is no City ordinance requiring residents clear snow from hydrants
