Early Sunday morning, the West Dunn Fire Department responded to an explosion in the Dunn County area

According to West Dunn fire chief, Ryan Hauck, three trucks and eight firefighters responded to an incident at an M.B.I. Mechanical Shop in Killdeer in below zero temperatures around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Injuries were reported, and according to Killdeer Police Chief, Eric Braathen, one of his officers who responded to the call went to the hospital for inhaling hazardous fumes.

Hauck said the shop did suffer some damage, but the situation was able to be contained using fire extinguishers.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
