BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota’s Game and Fish Department is reminding people that fireworks are prohibited on state wildlife management areas.
The areas are set aside to enhance wildlife production and provide outdoors opportunities including hunting and fishing. They’re popular destinations during the Fourth of July, but officials say fireworks can disrupt wildlife and cause wildfires.
Fireworks have been banned in many other areas this year due to drought conditions in the state.
