Former Police Lieutenant Charged with DUI and Hitting a Pedestrian


Former McKenzie County Sheriff Police Lieutenant is released on bond after being charged with driving drunk and causing serious bodily injury.

44-year-old Russell Shahin was arrested early Thursday morning, after hitting a man walking along the street with his pick-up truck on West Frontage Road in Williston. 

Williston Sergeant Detective Dustin Selander told KX News Shahin’s blood alcohol level was .183.

The former officer is set to appear in court on January 24th for a preliminary hearing.
