Frozen turkeys can fly through airport security

Here’s a travel tip if you’re flying this Thanksgiving holiday – you can take a frozen turkey through airport security, no problem.

Home baked pie? That’s allowed, too, in carry-on bags.

In fact, much of a traditional Thanksgiving meal can be checked through airport security for a commercial flight to Grandma’s — if that’s something you really, really want to do.

All you need to do is meet the Transportation Safety Administration’s criteria for carrying or packing items.

The TSA has a Twitter page (#AskTSA) where you can ask about items that can and can’t be transported on commercial flights these days. Click the “Tweets & Replies” link for interesting questions on items people want to bring with on flights.
