Some local service clubs are hoping to enhance a Williston park soon.

Fundraising efforts for a new pavilion in Williston’s Davidson Park are underway.

The Williston Rotary Club, Noon Lions, and Korner Lions held a “Raise the Roof” barbeque this afternoon.

Money earned from donations will help raise the roof on the new pavilion.

(James Bervig, First Vice President, Noon Lions Club) “We have some other shelters here but there is a need for something bigger. So this should hold about 50 people. And be great for gatherings for birthday parties, family gatherings, community events, business functions, things of that nature.”

The pavilion will be 52 feet by 24 feet and is expected to cost about $37,000.

The groups will need to raise about $11,000 more to hit their goal.
