Gordmans partners with Marine Corps for Toys for Tots

Tis the season of giving and one Bismarck store is trying to get people to get into the spirit. a little more this year. Gordmans joined forces with Marine Corps for the stores first ever Tots for Toy Drive.

The drive has distributed over 540 million toys to date. The program was created in 1947 and has been gives out toys to families that can’t afford gifts. They have also supported over 250 million children and are excited to work with Gordmans this year.

United States Marine Corps Sergeant, Matthew Perry says, “Kids don’t always get a presents and this is what the season’s about. It’s about giving. You have an couple of extra bucks just grab a toy or something that looks cool that a kid might like then through it in the bin and it will get distributed to the people that actually need it.”

The store has also done it’s own fundraiser to help raise more money for Toys for Tots.

Gordmans Store Manager, Bradley Auch says, “Every year Gordmans designs the FAO Schwarz bear and a dollar from this also gets donated back to the toys for tots program. We have seen some guest purchase the bear and put the bear right back into the box so that’s kind of their contribution. So it’s a double take on it you get the contribution and the toy right off the bat.”

From now til December 4th you can purchase a newly wrapped toy and donate in the Gordmans Toy for Tots boxes or any other stores that are participating in the drive. All the toys will be given to children in need in the Bismarck area.
