The Governor and first lady opened their home to the public today, so residents can get an up close look at the nearly-completed project.

Staff were on-site, showing the residence’s formal space, which is on the east side of the home.
Tours also ventured into the kitchen. The project spending was capped at 5 million dollars; 4 million coming from the Capitol Building Trust fund, and the remaining 1 million from private donations. Nearly 4.9 million has been spent so far, including the costs of demolishing the former residence. The project took just over 2 years, and all that’s left are minor touch-ups like landscaping.
