Guilty Plea in Williston Murder Case

A man facing a Class Double-A murder charge has changed his plea to guilty.

51-year-old Tovias Carrillo-Cerna pleaded guilty to the 2014 death of Juan Palacios.Police say Carrillo-Cerna

shot and killed Palacios in January 2014, then left his body and a matress in a ditch along Highway 1804 east of Williston.

He also changed his plea to guilty in the murder charge, two counts of terrorizing, assault and tampering with physical evidence.

Carrillo-Cerna is a legal resident of the United States, but could face deportation for the crimes.

He was sentenced on the tampering with physical evidence charge today and will be sentenced for the remaining charges at a later date.
