Fire departments are reminding people that jack-o-lanterns can be a fire hazard.
They suggest you use LED battery powered lights to illuminate them at night.
If you’re using candles be sure keep an eye on them.
Keep them away from drapes or anything that could catch on fire.
If your Halloween decorations involve lights be sure to disconnect them when you’re not home.

“So we want to keep positive control if we have a candle inside it -make sure that it’s attended at all times that you’re never– that it’s never left alone somewhere where there is potential where it could cause a fire,” said Fire inspector Stuart Hammer.
