Local elevators are gearing up for this years crop.
Elevators in Plaza and Makoti are currently moving last years grain to make room for the new.
The elevator anticipates farmers showing up as early as next week.
The Plaza-Makoti grain elevator currently serves close to 40 farmers in the area.
“We’re just moving peas and beans and wheat into different bins so that it’s easier for them to get in and get out a little bit quicker,” said Bryan Goedeken with the Plaza-Makoti Equity Elevator.
They are at their busiest late September, early October.
