Farmers and ranchers in North Dakota are always planning ahead.
And in Minot, an ag showcase is about to take place to help producers do just that.
(Tim Olson, KX News) The crescendo of big rigs… that familiar melody of the back-up beeper… even the occasional gesture from the maestro.
(Gregg Schaefer, Manager – Heartland Ag Showcase) “It’s a well-orchestrated deal.”
(Tim Olson, KX News) It’s music to Gregg Schaefer’s ears.
(Schaefer) “We started at 7 this morning moving equipment in here – lots of big pieces. Need to get the right stuff in at the right time.”
(Olson) The Heartland Ag Showcase runs Tuesday and Wednesday at the North Dakota State Fair Center. And the variety you’ll find is symphonic in scope: seed, chemical, equipment, insurance…
(Schaefer) “Basically from farm to fork, it’s here.”
(Olson) Schaefer says about 250 vendors will be on hand to help farmers and ranchers out.
(Schaefer) “You’re able to do a lot of business in a short period of time.”
(Olson) And for producers, the baton drops right on time.
(Schaefer) “The whole show is built on the timing of the year. Really trying to capitalize on that prime time buying and selling season.”
(Olson) So for farmers and ranchers planning for 2017 – the curtain raises Tuesday morning at 9.

This will be the second annual Heartland Ag Showcase – and plans are already in place for next year.
