Hundreds of North Dakotan’s are homeless. One soup kitchen is doing their part to lower the statistics.

Heaven’s Helpers Soup Cafe in Bismarck is taking on a big project, hoping to offer more resources to those that need it most. Phase II will include showers, a laundry area, computer room, and more. We asked the executive director why he wanted to take on even more.

Mark Meier; Executive Director: “We would see people who would go down to the river to bathe, or come in and spend 10 minutes in the bathroom doing a sponge bath. We figure, for people to have a hot meal, a warm shower, and clean clothes, it’s just the basics to get back on your feet.”

The soup cafe is in need of contractors who will work with them to help complete this project.
The plan is to begin phase II in the fall, and have it completed by Christmas.
