President Donald Trump has signed a bill into law that Senator Heidi Heitkamp helped introduce.

The Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act will try to crack down on websites facilitating sex trafficking.

Multiple members of congress were in attendance during the signing as well as sex trafficking victims.

Senator Heitkamp says those websites will now, quote, “face punishment for their disgusting roll in facilitating vile trade.”

Heitkamp added, “I’m proud of our bipartisan work to move this bill across the finish line, and we need to stay vigilant as we fight to end sex trafficking and sever the chains of victims in North Dakota and across the country.”

Heitkamp has been working on the fight against human trafficking since elected.
