Grand Forks, ND – An area high school basketball player is in recovery after a mysterious accident sends him to the hospital.
WDAZ reports the player is still in the hospital and another student is under arrest and the Narcotics Task Force has been called in to take over the investigation. Devils Lake police say even they do not know what happened before dawn on Saturday morning as Emergency responders headed to Lake Region State College to treat Royals Point Guard Jordan Bolton.
That night, authorities arrested another student after interviewing several staff and classmates.
19-year old Joshua Guerra will be charged with possession of a controlled substance and minor in possession of alcohol. But it’s unclear if his arrest is related to Bolton’s accident.
“Right now we’re in the process of investigation. So I can’t make a determination at this point if that same individual would be in any way part of the other case at this point,” Det. Sue Schwab with the Devils Lake Police Department said.
Bolton’s family says, “He is alert and receiving the best care in hopes of the best possible outcome.”
