High-Speed Chase Ends in Arrests

A high-speed chase that began near Minot ended in Stanley last night with the arrest of three juveniles.

The Ward County Sheriff’s Department reports the chase started when a deputy spotted a stolen car on Minot’s west edge and tried to make a stop.

The driver took off and ended up racing west on Highway Two, reaching speeds of 100 miles per hour.

Highway Patrol units joined in the chase and stop strips were deployed near Berthold but the driver cut through that town to avoid them.

Stop strips were again put out – this time in Stanley – and they disabled the car and allowed officers to make the arrests.

The three are being held at the Ward County Juvenile Detention Center pending charges.
