It’s brought almost two decades of fears to the community, and this year, it’s supposed to be better than ever…
Horror on Harmon has been called the scariest haunted house in the state, and it’s rising from the grave in just 2 short weeks.
Happening now…Emily Medalen is live inside the house and she’s going to tell us just how scary it really is.
Emily, how’s it going in there?
This place is beyond creepy.
I spent the afternoon here to find out exactly what makes this the scariest attraction in the state.
“Man, this is one of the better haunted houses we’ve seen here in North Dakota,” said Leander McDonald, President.
Horror on Harmon has been bringing terrifying entertainment to the community for 17 years…
“Going through here by yourself late at night… it’s an experience,” said Tom Braun, Founder, Horror on Harmon.
…and it’s not for the faint hearted.
“We get a lot of screams, a lot of laughs, some people cry…some people just crouch in the corners and don’t move,” said Wayne Jundt, volunteer.
Tom Braun started the scaring on Halloween at his home in 2001.
Now, it’s expanded to 90 volunteers and 1,100 visitors – and a new location.
The event now takes place at a 100 year old hospital at United Tribes Technical College.
But it didn’t get this big without a little blood, sweat and tears.
“…Amazing and gratifying. So much work involved with it, but the gratification is worth it in the end,” said Braun.
He’s spent 7 months intensifying every room in the house to change the experience for the audience.
“It’s a whole different event than it was last year,” said McDonald.
“There’s going to be something everywhere you walk,” said Braun.
Some of the volunteers have said they think the house really is haunted.
“They said that they’ve felt something in there. So we think it might really have some presence there,” said McDonald.
But, whether you believe in ghosts or not, walking through the doors of Horror on Harmon is sure to make your skin crawl.
“We will try scaring you the minute you walk through those gates… we will be scaring you from that moment until the end,” said Braun.
That scare had me on edge all morning… Horror on Harmon is the scariest entertainment I’ve ever gotten!
