How Energy Drinks could Lead to your Eventual Downfall

Have you ever tried an energy drink or wanted to? Health professionals say it may have risks.

According to the World Health Association, a large number of drinks can pose a threat to children and adults with mental and physical problems. Reports link the drinks to cardiac arrest, sudden death and more. If you choose to drink them, its recommended that you limit yourself to no more than one a day. And to be sure of how much caffeine you’re drinking.

You should not have more than 100 milligrams a day and will want to check the labels to make sure caffeine isn’t being hidden in other ingredients.

“It’s not a good idea to get our energy from high sugar intake or sugary products because initially, you will feel very energetic but that will not last long. Within an hour or two hours, you will be drained. Actually, that high sugar intake will cause fatigue in a couple of hours,” said Carmen Ilie, Sanford Cardiologist.

Alternative ways to get energy is from drinking water, lean protein, and Gatorade to stay hydrated.
