For many, the outdoors is where they’ll be this 4th of July.
But your celebration can easily be spoiled by some tiny pests. The latest rain falls and humidity is something mosquitoes love.
and being outside increases the chance of mosquito and tick bites.
The insects can carry insect borne diseases like West Nile and Lyme disease.
The best way to avoid them while outside is to wear products that contain DEET, permethrin, picaridin.
“Mosquitoes tend to feed during the dusk and dawn hours so try to avoid those hours –and we’ve had a lot of rain and so if you have any stagnant water around your home you want to try and get rid of that,” said epidemiologist Linda Larson.
She also advises you wear long sleeved clothing.
