HS Baseball: Legacy forces split with Jamestown


Legacy rebounded after a one-sided loss in the first game of the a double header to earn a split with Jamestown on May 12 at Municipal Ballpark.

The Sabers gave up four runs in the top of the first.

In the top of the second, walks and bad luck got the better of Legacy. With the bases loaded, a fly ball was lost in the sun, which led to fifth run of the game. Later in the inning, on a fielder’s choice, it appeared the shortstop stayed on the bag, but umpire said he was forced off and sixth run crossed the plate.

Legacy lost 12-0 in three innings.

The Sabers salvaged a split in Game 2 with a 3-2 win.

Legacy’s record now stands at 6-18 overall and in the WDA. There next game is against Century on May 13.
