HS Soccer: St. Mary’s snags final state spot

With only one spot left in the West for state, St. Mary’s and Bismarck had everything to play for.

In the second half, the Saints’ Britta Curl broke the stalemate and slotted the ball into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.

In the final minutes, Bismarck’s Elle Hill sent in a high free kick, but goalie Hallie Schweitzer saved the day. St. Mary’s went on to win 1-0.

After the game, Curl said, “We knew coming into this game we had to win,” And we focused on staying composed even though it was huge game, and we did good job of just doing our job and winning the game.”

With the win, St. Mary’s advances to state.
