Bismarck High and Dickinson softball are headed to the Class A West championship.
First, the Demons faced the top-seeded Lions of Minot Ryan. Things were scoreless until the third inning, when Felicity Blair started things off with a two-RBI single.
Later in the inning, Micheala Casey hit a grounder that led to a Lions error, allowing another run to score to make it 3-0 Bismarck.
Soon after, the Demons singled again, and Blair was able to sidestep a tag at home plate to make it 4-0.
The Demons would win 5-1.
Dickinson took on Century in the other semifinal game. Like the game before it, the score remained 0-0 until the third inning when Dickinson came through with a sacrifice fly-RBI.
The Patriots answered right back in the home half of the inning thanks to a Madi Kostelecky RBI single up the middle to make it 1-1.
Dickinson kept up the offensive output in the fourth. With the bases loaded, a Dickinson grounder richocheted sharply off Century pitcher Maddy Zander, allowing the go-ahead run to reach home. Dickinson would add two more runs to win 4-1.
Bismarck and Dickinson’s championship game will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday.
